Entry instructions for the Salinas Meet. Also, hotels.

MST Families,
Thanks to all of you that have been patient as I’ve gather Bill’s entry instructions and hotel information/option for the upcoming Salinas meet over the Memorial Day weekend.
First let me address Bill’s entry instructions.  Please be sure to enter into SESSION 2 of the events on Saturday and Sunday.  No Time (NT) entries ARE allowed for those swimmers that have never swum any particular long course events:
Enter all 4 events/day available IN SESSION 2 on Saturday & Sunday.  For those swimmers that attended the meet in Concord in April, please use your time from that meet for any application events.  If you are Winston, Camille or Zach, please talk to Bill about events on Friday.
Enter all 50 and 100’s except the 100 Breaststroke.  Only enter the 100 Breast, if your 50 YARD breaststroke is equal to or less than 50 seconds.  Remember, this is a long course pool, so if you haven’t swum an event in meters before Swim Connection will allow Not Time (NT) entries.
Since events on Saturday and Sunday won’t start any earlier than 12 Noon, Bill would like everyone to be at the pool, ready for warm up no later than 11:15 (that means fully checked in with cap and goggles in place).
There are three hotels available that have group rates available for those families that are attending the meet – two in Salinas and one that I previously mentioned in Seaside:
1)  The Embassy Suites in Seaside (831/393-1115) is offering a group rate under the name of Monterey Peninsula Swim Association for $189/night, with a 2 night minimum.  This is a standard Embassy Suite accommodation with both One King & Sofa Bed, as well as a Two Double & Sofa Bed Suite available.  Breakfast is part of the room charge.  This hotel is right on the Monterey Bay, but is about 12-15 miles from Salinas’ Hartnell College, which is where the meet is being held.
2) The Salinas Marriott Courtyard (831-775-0491) is offering a group rate under MBSC (Monterey Bay Swim Club) for $149/night – no minimum stay required and no advanced purchase required.  Breakfast is NOT included.  As of tonight that have rooms with 2 Queens and rooms with 1 King bed available.  This is not a suite hotel – standard rooms.
3)  The Salinas Marriott Residence Inn (831-775-0410)  is offering a group rate under MBSC for $157/night   – no minimum stay required but advanced purchase IS required.  This means you have only 24 hours to cancel, once you’ve booked the room.  Breakfast is included.  Rooms (not suites) are available with 2 double beds as well as with 1 King.
While I would love to just have the families stay in one hotel, I think each family needs to select the location that best fits their needs.  For those that are going to Salinas, we can always compare notes and then figure out how to meet up, perhaps for dinner on Saturday evening.
Thanks everyone!
